The IVAM, in collaboration with Tate Liverpool, presents ‘Fernand Léger and Modern Life,’ displaying more than forty paintings and drawings, aside from films, graphic designs, books, fabrics and a large-scale photomural he made together with Charlotte Perriand for the International Exposition of Paris in 1937. The exhibition shows the unique visual style of Léger, who depicted the intense energy of the Parisian metropolis of the early 20th century with a colorful and vibrant cubism. The exhibition analyzes his technical and thematic evolution and presents him as a socially and politically committed artist, for whom modern art was a vehicle for education and a means to improve the quality of life for all...
