Fumihiko Maki

Hassan Fathy of Egypt, Reima Pietila of Finland and Charles Corres of India - architects committed to the cultural realities of their respective countries - are the predecessors of the Japanese veteran Fumihiko Maki in the winning of this medal, instituted in 1984 in the context of the congresses of the International Union of Architects, held every three years.
