Crises do not go with skyscrapers, yet the last years have seen them consolidating their presence to the limits of science fiction. A few decades ago they were an exception characteristic of American financial centers, rising only sporadically in Europe, and only sometimes did they soar past 200 meters. With the new millennium coming up, ‘peripheral’ economies burst onto the scene and made the skyscraper the tool for building their new cities overnight, multiplying these towers at a dizzying pace in both number and height...
