Anyone going to a house party knows that the interesting things often happen in the kitchen, not in the living room. This can easily be extrapolated to large events like the Salone Internazionale del Mobile in Milan, around which other events have arisen in parallel, the so-called Fuorisalone, which from their secondary positions in fact have as much to offer as anything in the official section of the northern Italian city’s great vehicle for promoting furniture. In the most recent edition, a pavilion sponsored by Finsa – devoted to innovative industrial timber processing for almost a century – presented a series of experiences through which visitors could symbolically reconnect with nature by means of wood.

Under a pergola of triangular trusses, eight different installations form a route intended to stimulate our senses and recreate reassuring emotions, from the joy of lying on the grass to the awareness of one’s own physical weight. All this through an imaginative display of wood-based solutions that forms an enchanted forest inhabited by ergonomic furniture pieces and relaxing swings.
